Psalm 37

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good: so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily, thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself in the Lord;and He shall give the the desires of thine heart.

I am not very diligent at blogging. It's not that I don't like the idea, I do. I just simply don't have the time. I like the idea of writing down my thoughts and perhaps what is going on in my family. It is a good way to journal, like old fashioned diary writing only in blogging you share it with anyone who has a mind to read it. I have considered staring a blog for our preschool in leiu of a newsletter. Parents could log in and see what thier children are doing, that way I could blog and it would also be part of my job. Anyway we'll see how that turns out. Stay tuned....maybe it won't be 5 months until you hear from me again.

Cumberland Island National Seashore

I first remember visiting this wonderful place in 1986. Chris's sister had been spending a week in St. Pete with some friends of the family and we took a "vacation" to go and pick her up. From the first time I ever stepped foot on this island it instantly became one of my favorite places in the world. Unscathed by progress it remains a natural seashore with dunes, wild horses and endless beach lines. There is so much history on this Island. It was once home to the very wealthy Carnegie family in the early part of the century. The inward part of the island in camposed with large winding live oaks with hanging Spanish moss. Palm covers the ground. It is a very special place. I can't wait to go back!

North GA Mountains

I love living in the mountains. When I was a little girl, long before I met Chris, every year we would take a trip to the mountains. My whole family! Granny, Uncle Bobby and Uncle Tommy, Aunt Mary Nell and Uncle John, cousin Larry and cousin Roger. Aunt Louise and Uncle Charles and Cousin Susan.

On the way my Granny and my Daddy would tell us the same story about an Indian girl named Falling Rock and how she got lost from her tribe and that to this day she still roams the hills of the North Georgia mountains. You have to be careful or she will dart out of the woods in front of your car, that's why the have Watch for Falling Rock signs around every mountainous curve. My Granny Bentley always brought juicy fruit gum along for when our ears began to pop due to altitude. We would always pull over for boiled peanuts. My granny who was all of 5 foot tall used to sit in the car in between my two uncles and we all would play jello around all the curves. My uncle Bobby drove a 1962 Chevy. It was a sight for sore eyes, but my Granny would hoop and hollar like a youngster.

When we arrived to our ultimate destination which was Ruby Falls at Unicoi State Park all the Ladies, Granny, my Aunts and my Mama would pull out all the delicious food. Fried chicken, biscuits, baked beans potato salad, deviled eggs and so on and so on. My Granny one of my Aunts would make a 3 layered homemade cake and we always had watermelon. After dinner, which by the way is what my southern family calls the noon meal all of us kids and my very athletic 1st cousins would hike to the top of Ruby Falls. This trip often took place in late September or early October, till warm enough for the yellow jackets to try to eat our delicious food. I love those memories!

The North GA mountains are still my favorite place in the whole world. I have traveled to several places, most of the United States and several exotic destinations, Cancun, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Dominican Republic and I have never encountered a more beautiful place than the North Georgia mountains. I have proudly called this home for 21 + years.

Blogging Blues

I am terrible at keeping my blog up to date. It's not that I don't like it, I do. I love reading blogs and I love to be able to share my heart in my own.

When you read someones blog you get a chance to look deep into their heart and find out who they are and what makes them tick. I think if I had the time to write about all the happening in my day and in my family I would have a novel on my hands.

I am 1 year shy of my 4oth birthday, but I have seen a lot in my years. I have 5 children. Since I married very young (to young) and had my 1st child at 18 my life has been fairly full and yet exciting at the same time. God has been good to me! Plain and simple. I am an exception and not the rule, let me explain. My husband and I began dating when I was 15 years old and in the 9th grade. I say "dating", but not really, my parents wouldn't let me actually go anywhere with him until I was 16. Chris and I knew early on in our relationship that we would spend the rest of our lives together, so when we married when had been together for 3 years. Our wedding which was going to take place in June 1988 took place in October of 1987 and in April of 1988 we had our first child. We had good support from our families. The one HUGE thing in our life that made us the exception and not the rule was God. Most couples who find themselves in the same situation that we were in are not so fortunate. I thank the Lord that He has had His hand on me through the years. His word and His ways are perfect. When were stray from what He has for us there are consequences. But I know that as long as I seek Him and call out to Him He will be there. I can't imagine how my life might have turned out had it not been for Jesus.

I said all of that to say this....back to my original heading.......see, you thought it was a rabbit trail.......There is SO much......so much to say , so much I could write about and honestly I don't know where to start. I figured I could start at the beginning and tell you how wonderful God has been to me in the process.......hopefully I will be more consistent in blogging in the future.

WAKE UP AMERICA

I am the only one who see's this country following Barak and Michelle Obama like sheep being led to slaughter? News media, Hollywood and anyone who thinks it might may them look popular are supporting and flocking to him like he is the Savior. I used to laugh at people who said they thought he could be the antichrist, but I am not laughing anymore. If he is not the antichrist, he is definitly a forerunner. His ideas to re-make America are scary. Yes, not rebuild, not restore, RE-MAKE! Turn it into something it wasn't before!

IT WILL BE AN AMERICA where a majority of citizens receive lavish government handouts and benefits but pay no federal income taxes, meanwhile voting themselves still more benefits from the shrinking minority who do pay taxes -- at ever more "progressive" rates

IT WILL BE AN AMERICA where "universal health care" means waiting months, even years, for urgently needed treatment -- unless you happen to be politically powerful or connected -- and where all your private medical information is on a government database (don't worry: they promise never to use it against you!)

IT WILL BE AN AMERICA where "green" ideologues and other nanny-staters dictate what we drive, what we eat, home energy usage, the size of our houses, and even how many children we can have

IT WILL BE AN AMERICA where our major industries, crippled by government mandates, taxes, and regulations, end up becoming taxpayer-supported dinosaurs that can no longer compete in the global marketplace

IT WILL BE AN AMERICA where all employers will be forced to hire and promote not according to ability but according to race, gender, and ethnicity -- all in the name of "diversity"

IT WILL BE AN AMERICA where our once-great centers of finance, industry, culture, and innovation -- from New York to Silicon Valley -- will have gone to seed, while only Washington, D.C., and its environs prosper

IT WILL BE AN AMERICA, in short, where only politicians, government bureaucrats, and their favored constituencies are able to thrive -- and where the only "liberty" that remains is the government's unlimited freedom to control every aspect of your life

Wake up guys, we have been climbing the mountain to socialism for sometime and we are nearly to the top!
